Policies regarding WVNano NSE Facilities and Equipment Resources
Resources listed are categorized into two main categories; shared resources and collaboratively mediated resources. These designations are indicated in each resource’s description. These designations influence the policies and cost model for operation and usage.
Shared Resources can be freely scheduled for usage based on availability after appropriate training has been completed. Shared resource usage requires payment of a users fee. Shared resources under WVNano’s shared resource plan are supported through a mix of user fees, institutional, state, and WVNano garnered funds. Shared resources under other departmental or health sciences plans are supported through user fees and other funding mixes.

Collaboratively Mediated Resources are typically specialized equipment that require the successful establishment of a suitable technical collaboration with the faculty member responsible for the resource. Resource usage and cost are then mediated through this collaboration consistent with its agreed upon technical scope and objectives.
